Name: Palenax
-Alias: Nax
Species: Fire Dragon
Class: Manakete
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Violet
Age: "You really expect me to bother with such a trivial detail?"
Appearance:
Palenax stands at a height of around 5' 8", not being particularly tall or particularly short. She has a fair skin complexion and a rather average build and figure. Really, the only thing that seems to stick out is her blonde tresses and the ever-constant look of boredom on her face. Well, that and the odd scar along her back that seemed like one gigantic talon mark. Not that many people ever see it.
-Clothes:
Palenax's clothing certainly doesn't match any current style in the nations of Belorath. Made from fine silks, she wears black clothing with a bronze-orange decorative hue. Though she doesn't seem to particularly care for own protection either, wearing no more armor than a single shoulder pad on her left shoulder under the cloak that adorns her. She also doesn't even really care about the state of her clothing at times, only concerned when it's her favorite hat.
Born in: Dragon Ruled Mainland
Story:
Palenax is a rather uncommitted sort, truth be told. While she holds some empathy for the Guntharian Species, as well as other Manaketes and Dragons, she's ultimately a greedy soul that's out for herself. Having taken up a scholarly pursuit in years before the current, this Fire Dragon turned Manakete had stumbled upon some documents detailing a group of Dragons led by a supposed "Dragon King" on a hunt from the mainland after the Gunthari. Though she ultimately dismissed this as mere fiction, in later days, Palenax became wounded after a duel to the death with a rival.
Remembering the tale of the so-called "Dragon King", Palenax decided to follow after the boats that were bound for a new island that rumors flew about hither and thither towards. A quite popular one was that of the Island being the retreat of the Gunthari. Though they now seemed to be split into four types of their once united race. Humani, Elvorei, Lilithu, and perhaps more interestingly, Beastmen. The Beastmen shared the transformative quality that the Manaketes bore and Palenax became interested in them, as well as the legends of the "Dragon King". Nonetheless, Palenax (even wounded and at a shadow of her power), seeks the tomb of the "Dragon King", intending to harness his power for herself.
From the moment she arrived with other colonists to the land of Belorath, Palenax has kept apart from many others, preferring to go about things herself or simply dismissing the people around her. Infact, after the set of colonists had arrived, she was quick to sneak off and avoid dealing with the trivialities of the colony. Though, she did have to admit after a time that these Humani, Beastmen, and so on could have their uses. Neither of the Traditionalists or the New Age Idealists (the two factions that divided the Dragons), Palenax really only bothered with other Manakete or the Gunthari Species when it came to what she needed to use to scout her path and hunt down leads. A simple lie here or there, perhaps more decisive action when necessary...
Palenax would come into her own. One way or another. No more would Palenax be a shadow of her former self, her goal is to not only regain the power that she lost, but to grow even greater still. As to the Gunthari Species and the rest of the Manaketes? She honestly could not care less when it came to reaching her own goals.
